Description

We're proud to partner with Bengineering Labs to bring you this awesome life saver! Quickly know whether your quad has a short, and protect it from certain peril. By plugging this in between your battery and your quad, you can limit the current getting to your quad. If the LED is on, there is no short. If the LED is faded, blinking, or off, then there is a short and you should check your quad. This is a great tool, but we recommend you pair it with the use of a multimeter to check for shorts to be sure you are not going to toast your precious goods!

The RDQ Smoke Stopper uses a Resettable fuse (PPTC). Connectors are high quality Amass XT60's.

Usage

Plug the Solid State Smoke Inhibitor between the battery and the device.

  • Green led on, OK.
  • Green led dim or blinking, Fuse tripped.
  • Green led off, Shorted.

To reset the Solid State Smoke Inhibitor, unplug for 10 seconds.

Note: Solid State Smoke Inhibitor/ Lightbulbs / Fuses / Circuit breakers are not 100% foolproof way of keeping the magic smoke in. It’s always best to use in conjunction with a multimeter. This is NOT an end all be all kind of protection. Nothing is. It is best at protecting against a soldering short. If you wire something wrong, it will likely still blow (ie apply 16v to a 5v system). This is a failsafe, one that will probably help you but may not depending on the kind of error you make. Double check wiring schematics, check your gear with a multimeter, and lastly use a Smoke Stopper. Do not wire things up randomly and hope a Smoke Stopper will save you - that's a bold move Cotton!

A Must Have!

"These work well for preventing hard shorts from builder error and faulty components from frying your stuff. It will not work well for small low resistance shorts, but at the same time, those tend to cause intermittent issues, less full blown boards. If you're new or a pro, buy it. You need this."

Q&A

Listing states that this is 1-5s capable (24v Max). I dont see one on the site for 6S..... Is this going to break if I use a 6S with it or is it going to melt? I am new to the hobby and just wanted to know if there is possible danger in using a 6S with this... ?
I use mine with 6s haven't had any issues...
