I've destroyed a few, never had one fail on it's own
"Works great on my now Frankenstein Cinelog 25, but can't speak on other setups. Only problem I have had is one tiny ground pad is really close to the battery negative and they can be difficult not join to solder, but unless youre using all of the 5v/ground pads you're fine. The destoyed ones are from being a noob using the wrong flux and, of course, unseen puddles."
