Description

The BANDICOOT antenna is a small linear receiving patch that is designed to work with the linear whip antenna’s found on the Whoop and Micro Drones.
If you are using a linear whip antenna on your micro quad and using a circular antenna to receive you would be experiencing a 3db loss due to the mixed polarization signals, for each 3db drop in signal that is a half in power so effectively your 25mW vtx will only be seen as transmitting 12.5mW.
For increased range, clarity and to get your 3db back use the Menace Bandicoot.

Reviews

Good value and quality

"Nice inexpensive small form factor linear patch antenna. Works well with RDQ MMCX whip antenna for simple FPV installations."

good for my micro trashcan

Nice Touch

"Works excellent."

Great little antenna

"I mostly fly 100mm class drones with linear antennas and finding the best goggle antenna set up was a mix of research and trial and error. For the research I recommend Oscar Liang's website. With my 25mw drones I found that a pole and patch combo worked best, but with higher mw I run two patches. I know, at first this does not sound ideal, but it works well due to the type of flying. With the small drones I usually fly on one level threading through trees. Two linear patches arranged so that the coverage arcs are slightly overlapped in front of me has has provided optimal performance. If I do fly above the Bandicoot's vertical range it's just a tilt of the head to adjust. The Bandicoot has a great performance envelope for its size and has worked very nicely. Note, you will have to add stalks (would be nice if it came with a stalk, hint hint) depending on the type of goggle you are using and even though the Bandicoot is light I still had to reinforce the stalks to maintain alignment. YMMV, Cheers."

Great for my tinyhawk s

"Flying my tinyhawk s with this made my image much better, in running it on Dominator V3 Laforge V3 and the difference from my other patch is huge. Definitely worth it if you fly linear antennas."

Bandicoot

"Works like a charm."

Working good

"Got like 4 blocks w trashcan down the road great video, haven't even changed it out when flying 5ins video been great paired with pagoda"

Jason S. (5/5)

Great for Micros

"I use this for all my little BNF micro quads that use the linear whip style antenna. I get really strong and reliable video signal from pretty decent distances with most of those micro VTX's limited to 25mW. Very impressive!"

Carlos M. (5/5)

Quality

"Haven't had a chance to really test it out but so far it's kicking butt lol!"

Daniel I. (5/5)

upgrade it

"Noticeable video quality improvement and stays fairly constant even at range for the dipole/linear/whip type antennas. Love the menace antennas overall. I have them all. Stickers are always nice as well."

Q&A

Can we please get the smith chart and a VSWR? This is like the only linear patch on the market.
We have contacted teh manufacturer for this and should have it soon.
Hi, I have emax goggles that came with the tinyhawk 2 rtf kit. I want to know if it is possible to change the antennas to gain more range and clarity. I heard that this Menace RC Bandicoot may work. What do you recommend? Also, I have bought two t16s radios and some other stuff from you. Your service is spot on and the stuff I have bought is absolutely amazing! I know why Joshua Bardwell has a link to your site. Thank you for the great service!
This antenna will give you more range, but it is a linear antenna and should only be used of your drone is also using a linear antennal. I would suggest the MenaceRC Pico patch as it is circular polarized as most drones will come.
Can these be made to work on box goggles like Eachine EV-800D?
Yes it can be done if you use an antetenna extention and 90deg adaptor
