Description

Antenna orientation, wear & tear, and non-directionality have been the source of some range issues with our long range and mini quad pilots. We sat down with IBCrazy and he designed this antenna to be as durable as possible. A diamond lasts forever!

Features

More Range
With a slight directionality to give you more range when flying in front of you, but still, maintain a solid link when flying behind you. The antenna uses the ground you are standing on to reflect and therefore boost your signal out beyond what traditional antennas can manage.

The Story
A few pilots were experiencing drop-outs at what seemed to be random times. I investigated 4 cases an found that all the dropouts were happening all at the same relative azimuth. it was apparent that conductive ground was causing a null between the 0-5 and 15-20 degree azimuth. This wasn't a Crossfire problem at all! I was a problem with the ground they were standing on!

To fix this, I designed an antenna that not only would resist the effect of ground but would track along the ground for low altitude flying. To do this a balanced closed loop structure was needed. The result was the TBS Diamond antenna."

Reviews

"A well built antenna. One nuisance, I have to remove the antenna for me to pull the crossfire tx module from the back of a jumper t14."

Charles (5/5)

Amazing

"Was having range issues with the stock antenna. All went away with this much needed upgrade."

Ryan B. (5/5)

Robust crossfire transmitter antenna

"Increase in range and reliability, compact size and a true upgrade to the stock crossfire transmitter antenna"

Matthias J. (5/5)

Crossfire!

"Great quality and signal...TBS is always on point!"

Lindsey M. (5/5)

TBS is the best in

"TBS is the best in the business and their diamond antenna gives you long range connectivity highly recommended TBS has done it once again"

Jeremie B. (5/5)

"Good quality."

Beann C. (5/5)

If you want to keep

"If you want to keep good mbps when going long range this is a best choice. But be careful when using because it can be damaged easily."

Charith D. (5/5)

Great antenna and it looks

"Great antenna and it looks super cool! I am using it on my crossfired radiomaster TX12."

Thiago B. (5/5)

Good antenna

"This is definitely an upgrade from the original crossfire antenna. Don’t know exact distance I was getting signal, but it was pretty far, and through very wooded ares with no problems. I’m using this with crossfire nano rx and full size immortal t antenna. The performance is good with increased distance."

Daniel N. (5/5)

Nice improvement for TX

"Nice improvement for TX"

Q&A

Can this be used an the mpm module I want to get a different antenna that is on it
No. You'll need to look for 2.4ghz antennas.
What's the best way to angle this antenna? Parallel with the radio "flat" or perpendicular to the radio "across" from the perspective of the operator? Just trying to figure out how to get optimum performance.
The orientation of the antenna on the transmitter should match the orientation you have on the receiver . For close range freestyle its ok to have both horizontal but if you want maximum performance the best is to have both vertical , this avoids pointing the “nulls” of the rx antenna to the tx , the nulls are the end caps of the rx antenna which have zero gain, the downside is that on drones its hard to mount the rx antenna vertical .
Can this be used to replace the stock antenna on a FrSky Taranis X9D Plus Special Edition 2019 ACCESS 2.4G 24CH Radio Transmitter? It says it is recommended for use with the Crossfire, but will it work with the actual Taranis to replace the stock antenna and would it even make much difference?
It will not.
